I haven't really started knitting for my baby yet, as it's not due until December, but this is what I've been making for the impending niece:
Ella Funt cardigan by Pamela Wynn. This is a really cute pattern, which I loved as soon as I saw it. It's a bit of a pain to get hold of, as due to the whole VAT mess thing, it isn't available as a download in the UK, and you actually have to go to a shop that supports Ravelry pattern selling and buy it from them, who will then put it into your Ravelry library. Fortunately it turned out that Iknit at Waterloo could do this, and I visited there whilst on the Fashion on the Ration outing so got my hands on it then, plus some balls of Debbie Bliss Baby cashmerino with which to make it. It's a fun little pattern to knit, and I love the elephants! The patterning uses some leftover bits and bobs of thinnish DK that I had lying around.
My brother and SIL really aren't ones for the whole pink/blue thing (well, neither am I for that matter!), but I thought they really should get something that was pink and sparkly, tee hee, so I found this pattern and yarn whilst on holiday. You can't really see the sparkle on it, but I promise it is... I'd forgotten what a pain it is knitting all the bits separately and sewing them all together at the end. So much easier to knit it all in one from the top down or bottom up. Don't think I'll be using this pattern again!
I haven't yet made up the little dress I'm going to make for the niece too, but that should get finished in the next week or so.
And, what am I planning to knit for my baby? Well, I've got a baby blanket half-finished so far, a really cute sheep tank top which I've already bought the yarn for and a puerperium to make too!
And my totals for July are looking pretty good, as I didn't buy any yarn that month, but I used up 728.5 metres. So, the running total for the year so far is 1355.9 metres more yarn used up than stashed!

You've been very busy. I always regret that I wasn't a prolific knitter when I was pregnant. I knitted one jumper which was literally worn only once before my daughter grew out of it. I think I should have knitted a blanket instead. The hat that my sister knitted fitted my daughter for a couple of years, so that was effort well spent.
Congratulations! That is lovely news!
I made a few things for my kids -- I'd always recommend skipping the whole first year's sizes and make something they can wear when they are walking. I had a great cotton pullover with a giant button on the neckband -- comfy for the kid and easy for the parent to get on and off!
Aw congratulations how exciting :-)
We're also expecting a new addition but it will have 4 legs and a waggy tail lol
Congratulations, what exciting news!! Hope you have been well and haven't been plagued too much by nausea and tiredness.
Love the jumpers, in particular the first one with the pretty yoke.
I don't tend to knit jumpers for the boys very much anymore, because they are getting very particular about what they will and will not wear, but I used to knit for them quite a bit. When boy #3 was little I made him a vest, which was fantastic because, what with the wriggly chubby stubby arms, I always found threading limbs through jumper sleeves a bit of an ordeal... I also knitted him a couple of leggins, which sounds weird but actually worked very well and he loved wearing them. They also fitted very well over the cloth nappies that he mostly wore during that first year so that was an added bonus...
Woo hoo! Look at you and your bump. Pretty impressive considering you're not due until December. Love the elephants, very cute.
Congratulations! I'm so excited for you. ♥
Katy Lord! I haven't been on Ravelry in forever, and I saw your baby blanket, and looked in here at your blog, and VOILA!
So excited for you and your little one! Congratulations! We are still over here, knitting occasionally. Big Monkey still sits in our living room and entertains little tykes who come over. We think of you fondly on a regular basis! God Bless you and your family!

Congrats!
I had no idea until now that you are pregnant. Just catching up on blog posts. Also considering to give blogging another try!
