Off to Norfolk

I'm off to Norfolk for work this week so no internet access (sob, sob, sniff, gulp, sob) but before I go...

I got Mum to take a picture of Eloise, which has come out distinctly better than my attempts in front of the mirror!

Having tonsillitis again last week meant a head start on my Christmas knitting (I only got done in time last year cos I had tonsillitis most of November and all of December!).
This is Noah's jumper:

Pattern from the 1st issue of Knit Today. Smallest size (2 year old). The yarn is Lana Grossa Cool Wool Big, a DK weight pure merino yarn, which feels oh so yummy to knit with. I used 6 balls and it was on 3.75 and 4mm needles. I used an extremely stretchy cast off and bigger needles round the neck, which is why it looks like it's gaping, but small children seem to have enormous heads...

And I finished the socks that should have been my Greenbelt knitting, if I'd gone. These are DK weight on 3.25 (2 circs method) needles. The yarn is pure wool, hand spun and dyed by the Spinning Gallery in Cumbria. I bought it as a kit from the Wool Clip. I've adapted the pattern slightly so it's ribbed and the heels have a strand of Kidsilk Haze knitted with them as reinforcement (I heard someone suggest this on the Socknitters list and thought I'd give it a go).

Have a lovely time!

Eloise looks fabulous! Great idea to use KSH for reinforcement, never thought of that, but I just heard somewhere that silk is great for reinforcement, better in fact than nylon. Baby sweater is really cute, and I think you're right to make the neck so big.

I hope you are having a good week in Norfolk. Lots of knitting in b+bs? Hope so. It was lovely to see you at the weekend. Sadly I won't be in Lincoln for the next meeting unless I start begging dp to do some more babysitting because work have changed the dates. GRR!!
Did you get Yarn Forward? What do you think to it? I am tempted.

This may sound a little random but I'm pretty sure that it was you who ordered some of our handspun yarn from HipKnits a while ago. I replied to your last email saying that it hadn't arrived and have been trying to find your paypal payment so that I can refund you the money as I guess not having heard back from you means that it is still somewhere in transit. I must be having a dizzy moment because I can't find the order. Can you email me or phone the shop when you're back from holiday, always assuming I've got the right person that is!

That tonsillitis sounds really useful. Are you sure you want to be rid of it?

Be assured you are not forgotten, there is a little something on my needles for you at the moment.

One Skein Angel.

Beautiful knits, especially Eloise. The first ever pair of socks I knit were from the Spinning Gallery, they are the loveliest socks I have, I think!

Really enjoyed reading your post on feminism.
