Slow stashing

I just read the article on "Slow stashing" on Knitters' Review. Excellent plan! I don't want to stop buying yarn completely, and I don't want to *just* knit from my stash, even though I'm aiming to do a lot of that this year.

Has anyone else read "Lark Rise to Candleford"? I've almost finished it and have really enjoyed it (it's January's book at my reading group). I didn't see the first series of it due to the people I was lodging with and their monopoly on the TV.

Yes to the slow stashing!! I read about it on Ravlery and must admit I haven't read the whole article but it sounds good to me. I hardly bought any yarn last year but the cupboard is still full....that could have more to do with the lack of knitting that happened last year though!!

Good article, thanks for posting the link. There are definitely many yarns that will go in my "unhappy pile" and I think it's time to pass them along and create some space for a bit of slow stashing. Great ideas - thanks again for passing them on!

I loved watching the first series of Lark Rise, and am glad another series is here. Haven't read the book though yet - that's a reminder to put it on my library list!

I am definitely slowstashing this year! I know I've only just ridded myself of my stash, but hey!

Does the word 'stash' mean yarn that you will never use but you are hoarding because you love it, or yarn that you are going to get around to using one day? I've never been sure. Either way, I have no stash to speak of but I enjoy looking at yarn and drooling.

The slow stashing article was interesting, thanks! I generally only buy yarn now with a specific project in mind, and I have destashed some in trades/gifts over the past few months (husband was amazed at first that I was sending yarn *out* of the house!). This year I am also going to make a dent in the existing stash, especially yarn I've had for a long time and that I still love :-)
