Just starting this

This is my first attempt at blogging, so here goes!

It's bank holiday Monday, I've done a little bit of work (as a swop as I've arranged to go out on Friday). It's been lovely and warm and sunny and I would much rather have sat in the garden with some knitting or a book! I have however eaten plenty of chocolate - fair trade of course. I love the Co-op shop down the road as all their own brand chocolate is fair trade. Today it was the turn of the milk chocolate with rice in - very tasty and good for when it's hot too as it doesn't melt as badly as "normal" chocolate.

I have also treated myself to some new needles from Angel Yarns - some Addi Turbo circulars. I ordered some of the 2.5mm 30cm ones so I can try out sock knitting on circular needles. It didn't turn out too badly on DPNs but I've never tried circulars before so I'm looking forward to having a go on them. I also had a quick look at Hip Knits and discovered some cotton yarn in gorgeous colours knitted on 4mm needles - just what I've been looking for. I can't wait for it to arrive...

BOOKS At the moment I'm reading "Watching the English, the hidden rules of English behaviour" by Kate Fox. It's very very funny, tongue in cheek and oh SO true. Only problem is that someone else has reserved it from the library so it's due back on 6th June. I'm going on holiday on 5th, and I also want to finish the jumper I'm knitting by then too... I haven't yet managed to work out knitting and reading at the same time, although I have got a trip to London on Thursday - should I knit or should I read?? Hmm. What do you think?

Maybe I should be daring and attempt to put a picture on too? Well. Let's see what happens.

Oh yikes. That involved downloading something. I'm not at all sure what I'm doing, but at least the broadband meant it was quick! Hmm. The picture seems to be somewhere else now. What do I do about that? Maybe this should be two separate posts... Oh dear. It seems to have turned into 3 posts and the socks have ended up at the start. Never mind - at least they're a cheerful way to start this off...
